Martha Ellis was found living with her son, James Madison Ellis at the time of the 1860
U.S. Census for Clear Creek township, Cooper county, Missouri. She was 75 years old at
the time of the census, 17 August, 1860. It recorded that she was born in Kentucky.
Martha "Patsy" (Shipley) Ellis died at the age of 76 on the home place on Clear
Creek, Cooper county, Missouri and was buried there.
