Evelyn Pearl Wayne, 82, passed away at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN, Monday, July 18, 2005.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, July 22, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be at Goodridge Cemetery, Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM, Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls with a 7 PM prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church, Friday.

Evelyn Pearl Wayne was born in rural Meeker County, MN on December 26, 1922 to Albert and Myrtle (Hanson) Anderson. Evelyn and her family homesteaded in Manitoba, Canada for several years during the depression, returning to Minnesota in a covered wagon in 1934. She attended schools in Manson, Manitoba; Karlstad, Middle River and Goodridge, MN.

She married William J. Wayne, December 1, 1940 and the couple settled in Grand Plain Township, Marshall County on the farm next to Bill's Dad, Will C. Wayne. Later they moved to the home place where they resided until Bill's death in 1996. She lived briefly at Valley Home and then at Greenwood Terrace where she made many wonderful friends.

In addition to being a busy and capable farm wife and mother, she enjoyed gardening and fishing in summer with her husband at Jake's Northwest Angle Resort at Lake of the Woods. She was a leader of the Mavie 4-H club while her children were members, as well as a member of the local homemaker's club. She was excellent at needlework and crafts, especially crocheting. She had a warm and ready smile to greet friends and family alike.

Survived by four children, Gerald (Dorothy) Wayne and Rodney (Sharon) Wayne both of Goodridge, MN, Margaret (Amor) Gosfield, Santa Barbara, CA and John (Mary) Wayne, Litchfield, MN. Also 9 grandchildren, Julie (Terry) Maidment, Robert (Lynell) Wayne, Donald Wayne, Timothy (Bonita) Wayne, Jeffrey (Tammy) Wayne, Kimberly Wayne, Kelly Wayne, Brent Wayne and Jesse Wayne, as well as 13 great-grandchildren, Heather (Tim Davis), Andrea, Collin and Logan Maidment, Erica, Erin, Hillary, Theron, Brandon, Kelsi, Kari, Tyler and Jessica Wayne and 2 great, great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, James (Bernadette) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND and Curtis (Jeannine) Anderson, Karlstad, MN.

Preceded in death by husband, Bill in 1996 and 3 sisters, Blanch (Reynold) Olson, Mildred (Lawrence) Olson and Hildred (Mervin) Skadsem.
