James Kenneth Bybee, was born in the family home in Biola, and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Upon graduating from high school, he immediately went to work for a local Ford dealership, Fred Kurz Motors, where he eventually met his wife and fell in love immediately.

At the start of World War II, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he stayed until discharge in 1945. By then he was married, the father of one daughter and one more soon to come.

Returning to Fresno, he directly went back to work for Ford dealerships in Fresno and Madera when he stayed until retirement in 1984, specializing in auto sales, fleet sales and leasing.

Jim never met a person he didn't call a friend in all corners of the world. He had a gift for story-telling that was enjoyed and shared by all the brothers in a family that was blessed with a loving relationship throughout time.

Jim and Doris also were fortunate to have over 20 years of retirement travelling in their several motor homes with family and friends, occasional trips abroad and with golf clubs always ready to go at home and elsewhere.

Always active, he was a member of The Lions Club, Rotary, Elks, Sirs, and volunteering wherever needed.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but is joyful in being with Doris again who he missed so much.

Preceded in death a little over a year by his loving wife, Doris, for over 64 years, they were both lifelong residents of Fresno. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Alice; and brothers, Ted, Lloyd, Herbert and Charles.

He is survived by his daughters, Judy and Joan; along with their families which include four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and son-inlaws, Larry and Ron, all of which he was extraordinarily proud.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Sunday, January 25, 2009, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 11:00 a.m.
