A wonderful loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, wife. My grandmother was pretty much the only grandmother I truly knew. Summertime always meant at least a week or two spent at her house in Brunswick Missouri, playing with my cousin Terry, going to play bingo with Grandma and my Aunt Wilma and basically hanging out downtown. My Grandfather died before I was born and Grandma never remarried. She spent most of her life in Brunswick and spent her days canning, growing a wonderful garden each year in her back yard with the most delicious corn! She played piano and sang when she could. Sundays were spent going to church when she could, or watching one of the televangilists, Oral Roberts was her favorite.
She had 11 children.
She loved to play bingo, go on picnics, visit her children and grandchilren when she could. She traveled the states a bit....got to see both coasts, and visit Gettysburg, where her father-in-law fought...he later lost an arm to a cannonball shot in another battle during the Civil War.
Grandma left us the night before Easter in 2000. According to my mother, she had been in and out of conciousness all day, then she suddenly lifted her arms up as if she was reaching out to something....
God was waiting for her is my guess.....she truly believed and I think he was awaiting to take her on up. A few moments later, she was gone. She was 9 months to the day away from her 100th birthday. And to this day, she is remembered and truly missed. Love you Grandma!
A side note that had become a bit of a funny......look closely at the headstone. When you see the year 2000 under my Grandma's name, look at the first two numbers, the 2 and the zero....look kinda funny don't they? When my Grandpa died, they added my Grandma's name, and the years 1901-19 blank.......she lived into they year 2000. They had to remove the stone and redo the dates. So Grandma was not Y2K compliant. :)

A special thanks to Sylvia Whaley for creating and transferring Grandma's memorial to me.
