Mary C. Groff, 69, died at 3:00 p.m. Friday at St. John's Medical Center in Joplin. Miss Groff had been in failing health for the past 10 years. Miss Groff was born near Girard on Dec. 9, 1906, the daughter of Elmer and Gertrude Groff. She lived in McCune most of her life.
Miss Groff never married and made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Theising. She was a cook at Elm Acres and at a rest home in Girard. Miss Groff was also a member of the Osage Brethren Church of rural McCune.
She is survived by one brother Forest (sic Forrest) Groff of Girard. Three brothers and one sister preceeded her in death.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Stewart Chapel in McCune with the Rev. Larry Moreland officiating. Burial was in McCune cemetery.
