"Burton Shurm Bohnett, age 83, of Laingsburg passed away at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan on Friday, June 10, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11am at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Laingsburg Chapel, Pastor Mike Hixon will officiate with private family burial to take place in the Laingsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Burton was born on August 19, 1932 in Laingsburg, Michigan to the late Orion and Alice Loraine (Montague) Bohnett. He entered the United States Naval Reserves in 1947 and served them faithfully, and was honorably discharged on July 14, 1951. On September 26, 1953 he married Mary Fralick at the Laingsburg United Methodist Church, they spent 62 wonderful years together and raised three children. Burton retired from General Motors after 34 years of service in the parts department. He was an avid collector of vintage and primitive tools, he was a member of the All Colors Tractor Club, Masonic Lodge #230, and the Missouri Wrench Collectors Club.
Burton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary, his children; Daniel (Sheila) Bohnett, Robin (Steve) Wiswasser, and Duane Bohnett, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. His Brothers; Jerry Bohnett and Ben Bohnett.
He was predeceased by his parents, three siblings and two sister in-laws.
