The funeral service for Thelma Lee Matheny of Paris was at 2 p.m. Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Douglas Nash from Central Point Baptist Church, where Matheny was a member, officiated. Burial followed in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers were Bill and Jim Brake, Barry Webb, James Derek Martin, Tracey Lee Brown and Delmar Gordon Harrison.
Visitation was Saturday and Sunday.
Matheny, 89, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Henry County Healthcare Center.
Born Aug. 13, 1921, in Henry County, she was the daughter of the late Ovie Lee Webb and Alma Love Starling Webb.
She was married on Sept. 16, 1939, to James Douglas "Jake" Matheny, who died Dec. 31, 1997.
She and her husband farmed in the Central Point community.
Survivors are one daughter: Mary Catherine (Delmar) Harrison of Clarksville; two sons: Jerry (Mary Jo) Matheny and Rickey (Teresa) Matheny, both of Paris; one brother: Charles (Jane) Webb of Paris; four grandchildren: Tracey Brown, Jeffrey Matheny, Melissa Taylor and Julie Sherrod;
Fourteen great-grandchildren: Derek Martin, Elijah, Ashleigh, Haleigh and Jeffrey Brown, Jacob, Shane, Trevor and Leah Matheny, Kristen, Eric, Merrick and Izabella Taylor and Gage Sherrod; one niece; and two nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Ray Matheny in 1974; one brother: George Webb; and two grandchildren: Jana Rae Taylor and James Eric Matheny.
