Mrs. Elizabeth Rebecca Burges Moye, 64, of 430 East Second street, Tifton, died Sunday morning at nine o'clock at the Tift County hospital, following several weeks illness.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at four o'clock at Bessie Tift Chapel, with interment in the Tifton cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. L. B. Allen and relatives served as pallbearers. Arrangements were in charge of Bowen Donaldson Funeral home.
Mrs. Moye was born in Dooly county, August 29, 1881, a daughter of Stephen and Minnie Lockaman Burges, both of whom are dead. She came to Tift county about 25 years ago and was a member of Bessie Tift Chapel Baptist church.
Surviving Mrs. Moye are her husband, R. L. Moye, of Tifton, and five sons and five daughters; L.L., Jack and Allen Moye, Atlanta, Robert and Curtis Moye, with the U S. Navy; Mrs. J A. Shiflett and Mrs. Jesse Walker, Tifton; Mrs. F. W. Barton, Lenox; Mrs. J. C. Truitt, Macon; Mrs. D. H. Purser, Bolingbroke. Surviving also are 23 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. A. D. Woodard, Jacksonville, Fl.
