Rev Owen (Son) Combs, Sr., Sanderson, died Saturday in a Jacksonville hospital after a brief illness. A native and life long resident of Baker County, he was retired superintendent of the Baker County Road Department, a member of Macclenny Church of God, and an ordained Church of God . Surviving: his wife, Mrs. Myrtie Johns Combs, Sanderson; five daughters, Mrs. Norma Jean Howard, Tallahassee, Mrs. Martha Staier, Mrs. Mattie Norman, Mrs. Mary Tarte, all of Sanderson, Mrs. Evelyn Wilkerson, Macclenny, a son, Owen Combs, Jr., Sanderson; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mae Stokes, and Mrs. Katie Dugger, Macclenny; 2 brothers, Harley Combs, Jacksonville, Lee Combs, Sanderson, 16 grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday 2:30 P.M. Macclenny Church of God, Rev. Lawton Thomas, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Jimmie Dobbs, Paxon Revival Center, Jacksonville, and Rev. George Stafford, Macclenny Revival Center. Interment in South Prong Cemetery. John M. Brinkley, mortician, Macclenny.
