Gladys Stallmo, 100, died on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Phyllis Dalager was the organist and Vanessa Anderson was the soloist. Musical selections included "The Lord's Prayer," "In the Garden," "Softly and Tenderly" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Casketbearers were Sherman Stallmo, Roger Barrett, Vernon Barrett, Sharon Barrett, Brenda Ficklin and Teresa Buffum. Honorary casketbearers were all Gladys' grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Gladys Delvine Iverson was born on October 21, 1901, the daughter of Gustav and Mathilda (Skauge) Iverson in Norman County. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith.

On January 20, 1926, Gladys was united in marriage to Nels Stallmo. The couple lived in several places in North Dakota before moving to Thief River Falls in 1960. She worked at Model Laundry for over 20 years. In 1995, Gladys moved into Valley Nursing Home and in 2000, she entered the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, where she has resided since.

Gladys enjoyed traveling to visit family on the West Coast. She also enjoyed dancing at the Eagles and attended many civic activities.

Survivors include daughters, Blanche (Lawrence) Barrett of Fisher and Merna (Leonard) Hill of Sun City, Calif.; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Thorpe of Seattle, Wash.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Nels; a son, Donald; two grandchildren; her parents; and six brothers, Fred, Robert, James, Clarence, Bert and Milo.
