Lucy "Elizabeth" Cameron was born to Thomas Cameron and Nannie Paralee Lever in Choctaw County, Mississippi. She married James Edward Mershon in 1887 in Montague Co., Texas, and they had eight children. Four died of diphtheria, according to granddaughter Avis. The four surviving children were Stella, Hilda, Lucile and Glen. Lucile died at age 17. The Mershons moved to Oklahoma. Edward died in 1902 of dropsy. Elizabeth remarried April 12, 1916 in Comanche County, OK, to William "Doc" Lemaster, the father of four daughters. They lived in Oklahoma, Arizona and Colorado before moving to California. Elizabeth died of circulatory failure due to coronary sclerosis. She was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery, according to her death certificate.
