JOSEPH ROOSE
Joseph Roose, 69, a resident of Elkhart county for more than 50 years, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Dorothy) Kantz on the Edwardsburg road just north of Bristol steet. Death was due to infirmities of age. Surviving beside Mrs. Kantz are two other daughters. Mrs. F Palmer of Fresno, Calif. and Mrs. Hettie Pettit of South Bend, seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at Church of the Brethren, South Sixth street, at 2 p.m. Monday, in charge of the Rev G. W. Phillips with burial in Grace Lawn cemetery. The body is at Ed Walley home for funerals, 315 West Marion street, where friends will meet at 1 p.m. Monday to proceed to the church Mr. Roose, who was the son of Frederick and Barbara (Kulp) Roose, was born in Ohio, May 7, 1847. He was twice married His first wife. Susan (Miller) Roose, died 48 years ago; and his second wife. Alice (Wahl) Roose, passed away in Bristol a few years ago. He made his home with Mr. and Mrs Kantz the last few years. In his active career he followed the trade of carpenter.
