She was the daughter of Hans Henry Schmidt and Philapina Beyer. She was married to Albert Liebe in 1894. She and her children and mother-in-law were drowned in the flood of 1914 in San Antonio. The flood took their house which was on West Commerce Street. Catherina is buried with her 7 hour old infant.
