Heart ailment take Life of Max Walker
Funeral services for Max Walker were held in the North Ward chapel on Wednesday, Jan 27, at 1 p.m. with Bp Milton Erickson conducting.
Prelude and postlude music was presented by Mrs E. Francis Winters, followed by the invocation given by Jack Kellersberger.
Speakers for the service were Harry M. Croft, Bp. Harold P. Papworth and Bp. Milton Erickson.
Musical numbers were a vocal solo, "When I Take My Vacation in Heaven", by Ernest Turner and a vocal duet, "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose" by Verenda and Lief Walker. The benediction was given by Max Robinson.
Dedication of the grave was by President E, Francis Winters and prayer in the home was by B.O. Gardner. The Relief Society was in charge of floral arrangements and served a meal at the Walker home following the funeral.
Pallbearers were Keith Williamson, Blaine Jorgensen, Ted Forgensen, Glen Jorgensen, Robert Suter and Robert Walker.
Schwab Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements and interment was at the Afton Cemetery.
Max Walker was born April 19, 1923 at Afton the son of Delila Merritt and Phillip Walker. Death occurred at approximately 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan 24 and cause was listed as a heart condition.
Survivors include his mother Delila Walker, his wife, Iona Kunz Walker and four sons and one daughter, Earl 9, Dennis 8, Jerry 6, Michael 1, and Maxine 4; five brothers, Earl, Glen, Phares, Pharan and Lawrence of Afton; three sisters, Mrs Eugene (Mae) Williamson, Mrs May (Shirley) Forssee of Pocatello, Idaho and Mrs Rex (Pearl) Marsh of Bountiful, Utah.
