Guinn Franklin "Jim" Dockery, 79, of Etowah, passed away early Sunday morning. August 31, 2008, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was the son of the late W.A. and Sarah Emma Lingerfelt Dockery. He was a member of the Pleasent Grove United Methodist Church and had retired from Morgan Manufacturing. He is preceded in death by his wife, Della Mae Dockery, brothers, Marion Dockery and Dillard Dockery, and sisters, Mae Curtis and Susie Mull.

Survivors include: five sons and daughters-in-law, Chris Dockery of Etowah, Quay Dockery of Cleveland, TN, Bobby and Lori Dockery of California, Ricky and Debbie Dockery of Indiana, and Joe and Geraldine Dockery of Etowah; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Dan Galloway of Orlando, FL, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Ingram officiating. The family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service. Family and Friends will assemble at 9 a.m. on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at the funeral home and precede to the Green Hill Cemetery for a 10 a.m. committal service. Cody Smith, Ethan Dockery, Jeff Dockery, Geoffrey Freeman, Derrick Morrow and Rusty Norris will serve as pallbearers.
