He was born June 19, 1927, on the family farm in Mayville to the late Claude and Alfreda Hoyt Harrington.
Cecil was a self-employed dairy farmer who celebrated 100 years of family ownership of the farm in June 2006. He drove school buses for more than 50 years for Mayville Central and Chautauqua Lake Central Schools, driving for three generations of some families.
He had been a member of the Chautauqua Grange, of which he had been the treasurer, and he had also been a director of Chautau-qua Maid Dairy Co-op.
He is survived by three sons: Lavern (Beverly) Har-rington of Mayville, Michael (Adele) Harrington of Westfield, and Wayne (Karen) Harrington of West-field; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Scott) Obert of Mayville, Dr. Ryan M. Harrington of Alexandria, Va., Velvet (Bill) Persons of Sherman, Amanda (Christopher) Reese of Westfield, Christopher M. Harrington of Milford, Conn., Kristle Harrington of Mayville, Lucky Star Hawk Harrington of Mayville, Kalli Harrington of Westfield, Emily Harrington of Mayville, and Sun Ray Eagle Harrington of Mayville; two great-granddaughters: Mercedez Obert and Tayden Persons; a step-granddaughter, Mackenzi Habig; one brother, Alton Harrington of Mayville; four sisters: Rose Von Volen of Mayville, Barbara (Carl) Witherow of South Ripley, Lois Maloy of Mayville, Christine (John) Krolle of Mayville; he is also survived by special friends, H. Louis and Dorothy Wendell and former daughter in-law Patricia Harrington.
He was preceded in death by his wife Willa Mary Hewes Harrington, whom he married July 22, 1949, in Mayville, and who died March 21, 2003; one sister, Louise Smith; one brother, Larry Harrington; and one grandson, Dusty Ray Har-rington.
