Mabel Steinlicht Hege, 90, died at Hillcrest Haven Convalescent Center in Pocatello. She was born in Colfax, Illinois to August J. and Anna Stroh Steinlicht. At the age of three she moved with her family to Aberdeen, Idaho, where they homesteaded northwest of town. The family later moved to a farm in the Pleasant Valley area west of American Falls, Idaho, and subsequently, into the town of American Falls, where she was raised...........
On 11-22-1933, she married Otto H. Hege at St. John's Lutheran Church in American Falls. Otto and Mabel lived on the Hege homestead near Aberdeen until 1994. In 1995 they moved from Aberdeen to Pocatello, Idaho. Otto preceded her in death on 12-25-1999. Mabel was a faithful member of the First Mennonite Church of Aberdeen...........survivors include four daughters, 13 grandchildren. 23 great grandchildren. Her parents, three brothrs, Ernest, Elmer and Robert Steinlicht and two sisters, Lenore Farwell and Ruth Carlson preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held today at the First Mennonite Church, Aberdeen; Pastor Monty Ledford officiating. Interment will follow at the Homestead Cemetery in Aberdeen.
