Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots: Volume 4
WOOD William Mount Pleasant, Whitely Twp, Greene Co PA 56

The American ancestor of this family seems to have been Isaac Wood, who came
from England (He was the son of Joshua Wood of Delph MD) , and after his marriage, on Long Island, New York (COULDN"T FIND IT -WILBORNS were in Harford Co MD too why go all the way to NY? ), removed to
Harford County, Maryland, and settled near Havre de Grace. His wife was Elizabeth Willborn. At least two and probably three of their children came to
the Tenmile Country with the Eagons, Inghrams, and other Upper Maryland families, they being William Wood, Hannah, who married Kent Mitchell, and possibly Martha, wife of James Mitchell.
William Wood was born in Maryland in 1734 (NOT TRUE - St George Parrish Records 1689-1793 by Bill and Martha Reamy William born 18 Nov 1736)., and came to Greene County, about the same time William and Arthur Inghram in 1774, for the next year we find him a member of Captain James Hook's Calico Shirt Company that marched to Boston to
join the Continental Army. He settled on land near the Inghrams in the Richhills, where he died December 28, 1806, and is buried in the Mt. Pleasant
Church Cemetery. His wife was Margaret Mitchell, daughter of Thomas (?) and Hannah (Osborne) Mitchell, born in 1745, and died March 4, 1846, aged 101 years
and 5 months. She is buried with her husband.
William Wood's Estate was filed for probate January 5, 1807, with James and Solomon Eagon acting as
admnistrators.
