Together, Mr and Mrs Riedel both of whom spent much of their lives in travel, made and published several surveys of ancient Mexican life and culture for the National Geographic society. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Gladys R Winn, with whom Mrs Riedel made her home; a son, F Atherton Riedel, both of Denver and five grandchildren.
