Debbie Kittle Stokes Saunders, 47, of Stillwater, OK died on Monday, January 5, 2009 in Stillwater. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend James Tucker officiating. Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on April 14, 1961 in Franklin, GA to Herbert G. Kittle and Nellie Marie (Anderson) Kittle Knott. She attended Stillwater schools. She married Steve O. Stokes in 1978. They later divorced after 10 years of marriage. She married Joe Saunders on April 14, 1990. They later divorced after 13 years of marriage.

Her favorite songs were "Dream Weaver" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings".

She enjoyed writing poems, walking, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her loved ones. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

She was a wonderful sister, mother, and friend and will be greatly missed by many friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Nellie Knott and her husband Erwin of Stillwater, OK; one son, Dustin Lee Stokes of Stillwater, OK; one daughter, Christy Diane Stokes of Cushing, OK; five siblings, C.L. Kittle and his wife Bridget of Stillwater, OK, Terri Prince and Bruce Meyers of Perry, OK, Russell I. Kittle of Stillwater, OK, Tammie Wright and Mike Behrends of Stillwater, OK, Chris Kittle and his wife Marilyn of Stillwater, OK; four stepbrothers, David Knott and his wife Angie of Stillwater, OK, Dennis Knott of New Kirk, OK, Daniel E. Knott and his wife Sally of Stillwater, OK, Donald Knott and his wife Alana of Perry, OK; nieces and nephews, Mickey Anson and her husband Matt of Sumner, OK, Cortney Dennis and her husband Kenneth of Cleveland, OK, Kadee Anthony of Stillwater, OK, Cody Kittle of Stillwater, OK, Zack Kittle of Stillwater, OK, Herb Kittle Stillwater, OK, Nellie Kittle of Stillwater, OK, and Blake Behrends of Stillwater, OK; four grandchildren, Taylor Gene of Cushing, OK, Joseph Adam of Cushing, OK, BayLee Mae of Cushing, OK, and Addyson Lane of Pawnee, OK; and five great nieces and nephews, Teagan Marie of Sumner, Nolen Thomas of Sumner, Hayden Lane of Cleveland, Roman Wayne of Stillwater, OK, and Jack Kelly of Stillwater, OK.
