DUANE M. MURRAIN
Duane M. Murrain, 66, who died Monday in Bullhead City, Mohave, Arizona, is survived by eight grandchildren.
A funeral for Duane M. Murrain, a longtime resident of the Portland area, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church.
He died of coronary artery disease Monday in the Bullhead City, home of his daughter, Carmelita Mullins. Mr. Murrain was 66.
He was born May 15, 1925, in Hyannis, Grant, Nebraska, and was raised and educated in Wyoming. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Honolulu at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
He married Ida May Boag in 1946 in Stevenson, Skamania Washington. She died in 1988.
An ironworker, Mr. Murrain was employed by Northwest Steel Fabricators for 25 years and had been involved in the construction of the Interstate 5 and Astoria bridges. He retired in 1977 and moved to the Vale area in 1989.
Survivors besides his daughter, Carmelita, include his daughter, Jean of Portland; sons, Rick of Gresham and Belden of Vale, Malheur, Oregon; brothers, Bruce and Harry of Los Angeles, Maurice of Woodburn, and Melvin of Molalla; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Disposition was by cremation.
