Opal Odell Dunham, 90 passed away in Antlers, Oklahoma on January 17, 2009. Opal was born October 29, 1918 to James and Jewel (McKinney) Atherton in Wright City, Oklahoma. Opal grew up on a farm and became a farmer/rancher's wife when she married Orval Dunham. Opal was a Teacher's Aide at Antlers School and Orval was a bus driver for 41 years. They attended all the Antlers community functions together. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; James & Jewel Atherton; husband: Orval Dunham; one son: Jerry Dunham; one daughter: Judy Waltermire; and siblings: Edgar Atherton, John Atherton, Jewel Atherton Berry, Mary Atherton Johnson, & Frank Atherton. She is survived by a son: James I. Dunham of Antlers; daughter-in law: Patty Dunham of Antlers; grandchildren: James I. Dunham II & wife Shea, and Janna P. Dunham; great-grandchildren: Aaron Dunham and Madelynn Dunham of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; brothers: James Atherton & Charles Atherton; sisters: Patsy Atherton vanEttinger & Janie Atherton Booth, all of Visailia, California; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
