Abstract--age 75, of Newburg, died Oct. 2, 2006, at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1931, in Rowlesburg, Lantz Ridge Community, the s/o the late Holden B. and Ethel Myers Shay. He worked for 33 years as a machine operator for Sterling Faucet. He was a foster parent for 16 years, he also worked as a maintenance man at the Preston County Courthouse and for the Dominion Post in Preston Co. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, JoAnn Rodeheaver Shay; one son, Frederick Otis Shay, Jr. of Newburg; one daughter, Diane Shay of Morgantown; and three sisters, Jennie Mae Frazier of Newburg, Mary Pyles of Terra Alta and Helen Knotts of Rowlesburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by tow brothers, Francis Shay and Holden "Bud" Shay; and one sister, Lois Shay. Burial was in the Parnell Cemetery in Centenary.
