90 of East Peoria, formerly of Abingdon died at 1:30 am Sunday, January 18, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on October 29, 1918 in Quincy, IL, a daughter of Charles and Roseina Wilhelm Hilfrink. She married John Henry Curtis on May 25, 1942 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2005.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Mary Jo (and Jerry) Moshier of Abingdon, Teresa Edgar of East Peoria, Randall W. (and Carol) Curtis of St. Petersburg, FL and Dennis R. Curtis of Jacksonville, IL; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Wagner of Quincy.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Johnny Clifford Curtis, one brother and two sisters.
She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic Church School in Quincy in 1933. She was a homemaker. She had lived in East Peoria with her daughter the past 2 years and prior to that had lived most of her life in Abingdon. She had also resided in Lowell, Arizona for a short time. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and was the Sunday School C.C.D. teacher for 14 years. She was also a member of the St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary in Galesburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Father William Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
