His wife of 42 years, Ann (Norton) Adams, died in 1988. He left three brothers, Bradford S. Adams of Newmarket, N.H., Bertis H. Adams, Jr. of Westboro and Dr. Howard C. Adams of Athol; a sister, Eleanor Adams Crecca of Vista, Calif.; nephews and nieces; and his personal care attendant and friend, Tashi Kamson of Northboro. He was born in Millbury, son of Bertis, H. and Edith (Simonds) Adams, and lived here 50 years. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1939 and Wentworth Institute, Boston, in 1941. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as machinist mate first class in the Pacific.
Mr. Adams was a toolmaker for Norton Co., Worcester, for many years and later was a self-employed public accountant. He was a member of First Parish Unitarian Church and served on its investment board. He was a former treasurer, auditor, past King Lion and recipient of Melvin Jones Award in the Northboro Lions Club. He was also a state-appointed member of Northboro Housing Authority for 15 years.
A memorial service was held at a later date. Burial was at the convenience of the family, in Howard Street Cemetery.
