Funeral Rites for Local Resident Will Be Conducted Monday Afternoon
Carrie E. Keitzer, 73, wife of John Keitzer, Sr., passed away at 2 o'clock Saturday morning at the family home, 517 Bates street, following a two months' illness. Born on April 11, 1874 at Monterey, she was the daughter of Solomon and Sarah Jane Yearrick Zehner. She was a member of the Wheatland avenue Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. Keitzer celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary on April 19, 1947. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Whiteman, city, Mrs. Sarah Birmingham, of South Bend, Mrs. Marguerite Eisler, of Chicago, and Mrs. Janet Uhl, city; two sons, John Keitzer, Jr., city, and Dr. Walter Keitzer, of Akron, O.; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Wheatland avenue Methodise church with Rev. E. F. Landrey in charge. Burial will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery. The body is at the residence and will remain there until 1:30 p.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church to lay in state until time of the rites. The McCloskey-Hamilton funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
