Former Seneca resident Dale Brooks Robinson, 86, of Burns died Feb. 5.
He was born March 31, 1916, at Marquette, Neb., to Herbert S. and Elsi M. (Liebhart) Robinson.
He was raised in Nebraska and graduated from Havelock High School at Lincoln, Neb., in 1934.
He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp and from March 1942 to August 1945 served in the United States Army during World War II as a radio/radar repairman, and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. Eventually he helped free prisoners from Nazi death camps.
After the war, he was employed by the United States Forest Service and later the Bonneville Power Administration as a communications technician.
On Jan. 13, 1950, he married Addie Lee Felker and they moved to Seneca to be near her parents, John and Nady Felker. They lived at Seneca for 20 years.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, photography, woodworking, inventing and loved his pets.
Mr. Robinson is survived by two nephews, Sam Deuel of Bay City, and Al Felker of Bellingham, Wash., as well as other family members outside the area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie, and father- and mother-in-law, John and Nady Felker.
A graveside service was held Feb. 11 at Canyon City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Seneca Volunteer Ambulance.
