Emma Elvira Gross was born on March 1,1853 at Hardenburg Indiana and died Dec. 7 1939 near Calument,aged 86 years, 9 months and 6 days. She was united in marriage to Elmer K.Hause on Dec. 12,1875. He preceded her in death in 1917. To this union eight children were born. One son died in infancy and another Harry M. Hause passed away in 1937. There are left to mourn her loss the following children: Howard and Herman Hause of Fort Wayne Indiana, Homer Hause of Geary, Mrs Mary Brown of Afton, Mrs Sarah Knight of Shawnee and Frank Hause of Calument with whom she made her home. One sister Mrs Lucinda Lough of Geary, 23 grandchildren and 28 greatgrand children. Mrs Hause came to Blaine County in 1899 and moved to Canadian County in 1908, where she has lived until her death. She united with the Baptist Church in May 1876 and changed her membership to the Christian Church in 1884 and has truly lived a devoted christian life. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Elmer Richards at the Midway Bapist Church, and interment was made in Geary Cemetery. Stricken with heart disease she died suddenly Thursday evening at her son Franks home 16 miles west of El Reno.
