Clarence Ebben Jacobs, 62 (b. 2 Jun 1913), of the Raybon, passed away Saturday morning (6 Dec 1975) at Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital in Brunswick following a lengthy illness.
A native of Wayne County in a section that is now Brantley County, he was a son of the late John Samuel Jacobs, Jr. and Annie Ellafair Morgan Jacobs. He was a member of the Community Advent Christian Church.
For a number of years he was engaged in farming. He was subsequently employed by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroads, and in more recent years until declining health forced his retirement, he was employed by the Brantley County Board of Education as a school bus operator.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Mae Evans Jacobs of Raybon; one daughter, Farrel Kirkland of Patterson; one son, John Jacobs of Tifton; three sisters, Katie Mae Crews (husband Joe), Annie Belle Highsmith (her 2nd husband Everett), and Minnie Morgan (husband Horace), all of the Nahunta area; two brothers, Eddie Jacobs of Nahunta, and Johnnie Jerome Jacobs (wife Cill )of Brunswick; one grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Raybon Advent Christian Church with Rev. E. Hilton Morgan officiating.
Burial followed in Rob Lewis Cemetery with Scripture by Rev. George R. Lee and Rev. Morgan concluding the rites with the Benediction.
Pallbearers were Hamer Crews, H. C. Morgan, Jr., Kirk Crews, Byron Highsmith, David Jacobs and Donald Highsmith.
Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements
