She was the paternal grandchild of Joel B. Turley & Annie Corbet; and gr-grandchild of Samuel Moses Turley & Lively Ellis, all of Clayton, Johnston County, NC. On her mother's side, she was the maternal grandchild of Joseph C. Ellington (CSA) and Elizabeth "Bettie" Tomlinson of Clayton, and later Raleigh, Wake Co.
Elizabeth's father had first married in 1895 to Nellie Northam Rose, by whom a son was born, Joseph B. Turley (c. 1896). When Nellie died in 1899, he married Elizabeth's mother in 1904. Elizabeth's mother died in 1919, and her father would marry once more to Myra Dixon.
Elizabeth never married and died in 1933, just about one month before her 27th birthday. She is buried near her parents.
