On Saturday, January 10, 2009, God picked the best flower from a rose bush to rest in heaven with Him. Keith Marquez Alexander was born November 30, 1981, in Brunswick, GA. He departed this life on Saturday, January 10, 2009. Keith graduated from Terry Parker High School, Class of 2000. Afterwards, he joined the US Navy, where he proudly loved and served for nine years. Keith touched the lives of many and his humbling spirit left a lasting impression. Keith will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his loving memory daughters, Tiana Jordan Alexander and Tori Mone't Alexander; a devoted and loving mother, Joy Franklin Alexander; mother #2, Barbara Alexander; father, James Alexander; three brothers, Ken Franklin, Dwayne Mack and Mathew Mack; godbrother, Tommy Anderson; grandmother, Velva Jean Hankerson; grandfathers, Jordan Franklin and Jerry James Hankerson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many devoted friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at 11 AM, in the Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church/Life Church International, 207 W. 6th Street. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Visitation will be at the mortuary, Monday, January 19, 2009, from 6 until 8 PM. Arrangements entrusted to A. B. Coleman Mortuary, 5660 Moncrief Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32209.

Petty Officer First Class Keith Alexander: Ex-Terry Parker Student to be buried at New Cemetery. A Jacksonville high school graduate who was killed in a Jan. 10 motorcycle accident in California will be the first active-duty member of the military to be buried at the new national cemetery in Jacksonville . Navy Petty Officer First Class Keith Alexander, 27, died near Point Mugu a couple of hours after colliding with a van, authorities told the Ventura County Star. Alexander, an air traffic controlman, had been in the Navy for nine years, according to his obituary. Born in Brunswick, Ga., Alexander was a 2000 graduate of Terry Parker High School. He had two daughters. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church/Life Church International, 207 W. Sixth St. Internment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery .
