Riley "Coot" Crews, 75 (b. 11 Oct 1898) of Raybon, passed away Tuesday afternoon (13 Apr 1976) in Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital in Brunswick following a lengthy illness. His demise brings personal sorrow to a host of relatives and friends throughout this and other sections and removes one of Brantley County's most esteemed residents.

Mr. Crews was born in Wayne, now Brantley County, and was the son of the late Allen M. Crews and Nancy C. Herrin Crews. His wife, Pearl Harris Crews, preceded him in death.

He received his education in the public school system and from early manhood until his retirement due to declining health, was engaged in farming. He was a devoted member of the Raybon Christian Advent Church.

Survivors are one daughter, Ruby Morgan, one son, Vornie Crews, one brother, Joe C. Crews, all of the Raybon/Nahunta area; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral service were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Apr. 15, from the chapel of Chambless Funeral Home with Rev. George R. Lee officiating, assisted by Rev. Thomas Bundrick and Rev. Bessie Lewis.

Interment followed in Rob Lewis Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Odie Crews, Richard Howard, Mike Crews, Raymond Willis, Hamer Crews and Kirk Crews.
The many beautiful floral tributes attested to the esteem felt for the deceased. The family has the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement.

Chambless Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
