Natalie Beatrice Crews, 17 (b. 15 Jan 1981), of Nahunta, died Saturday morning (3 Oct 1998) following a brief illness.

Born in Glynn County, she was a senior at Brantley County High School and served as President of the Class of 1997 during her Junior year. She served as Class President, Student Council Representative and President of the Spanish Club. She was Vice-President of the National Honor Society, Vice-President of Future Business Leaders of America (F.B.L.A.), a member of the Student Council Senate, a member of the Literary Team, a member of the Math team, A University of Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient, a Presbyterian College Junior Fellow and a Tandy Scholar. She had also attended the Governor's Honors Program.

She was elected Most Intellectual Senior Superlative and ranked second in her class. Natalie also served as a volunteer tutor for students at the elementary and high schools and was a member of the Nahunta First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mikle Vernon Crews.

Survivors include her mother, Marlene Hickox Crews of Nahunta; a sister and brother-in-law, Christa and Chris Davis of Nahunta; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Ginny Crews and Rodney and Jennifer Crews, of Nahunta;; her paternal grandmother, Daisy Beatrice Morgan Crews of Nahunta; her maternal grandmother, Betty Jo Hickox Crews of Hilliard, FL; her niece and nephews, Chelesa, Tyler, Trevor and Caleb; and several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, from the Nahunta First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Carson, Rev. Carl Milton, and Rev. Leon Wilson officiating.

Eulogies were given by Sharon Thrift, Patsy Harris and Camille Strickland.
Songs, "Wind Beneath My Wings," "Life is Hard," "God is Good," "Forever Love," and "I Will Remember You."

Interment followed in Rob Lewis Cemetery in Raybon.

Pallbearers were Christopher Sirmans, Justin Johns, Jeremy Brooker, B.J. Hall, Frank Bullard Jr. and George Clark.

Honorary escort was composed of members of Brantley County High School Class of 1999.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Natalie's memory to the Brantley County High School FBLA Christmas Fund.

Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
