Mr. Coil was the son of Leon Croughan and Lavina George Coil.
Gail graduated from Gilman High School before attending the University of Illinois where he graduated. He obtained his law degree from the University of Kentucky.


He married Karen Murden. She survived as do sons Gregory and Lance , daughter Kimberly (Joseph)Sigler, twin brother George and three grandchildren.

Gail was in private practice in Nashville Illinois before serving as an attorney for the Veterans Administration in St. Louis.
He then served asssistant states attorney in , Iroquois, Christian, Peoria, Macon, Effingham and Moultrie counties.
He was elected Moultrie States Attorney, serving from1992-1996.

Mr. Coil was a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S.Army with two tours in Viet Nam then served with the U.S.Army Reserves military police division for a total of 22 years of service.


Services were held from the Reed funeral Home in Sullivan.
