Mrs. Mellie Felton Gibson, 94, died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City on March 9, following a heart attack. She had been married to a member of a pioneer Forsyth family.
Mrs. Gibson was born September 18, 1883, in Berryville, Ark., the daughter of Benjamin and Martha Abbott Felton, early day residents of Sparta and Smallett, Mo.
She was married to Lee V. Gibson, a member of a pioneer Forsyth family, at Taneyville on November 26, 1909. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1949.
Mrs. Gibson lived in Warrensburg for 40 years before moving to Kansas City 13 years ago.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edwina Gerow of Kansas City; two grandchildren, William Gerow and Diane McClellan, and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held March 13 at 1 P.M. at the Forsyth Cemetery, with Rev. Robert R. Watts officiating.
