Lifelong Resident of Shelby
County Dies at
His Home

Leonard, MO., Jan 12--Funeral rites for
James Buchanan Miller, lifelong resident of
Shelby County, who died near Cherry Box at
7:30 p.m. Sunday, were held at 1 o'clock this
afternoon from the Leonard Christian church,
burial was in the Maplewood cemetery 8 miles
northeast of here.
Born 79 years last November 26, Mr. Miller
was the son of the late David and Minerva
Miller. He was reared in Shelby County 3 miles
south of Plevna, and his entire life has been
spent in that immediate community, where he
was well known. He was a member of the
Christian Church.
On January 19, 1888, he married Miss Mattie
Kimbley, who died in January, 1906, leaving
their three young children, whom Mr. Miller
reared.
He is survived by two sons, Wesley Miller
of Lakenan, Lee Miller, with whom J.B. Miller
lived, and one sister, Mrs. Nate Parsons of
Shelbina. He also leaves six grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren. One daughter,
Mrs. Ollie Wilson and an infant son preceded
him in death.

The obit states the burial was at Maplewood,
this is in error, the burial was in fact at Cedar
Grove, aka King Cemetery at Bethel, Shelby
Co., MO.
