A native of Pierce County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Riggins and Lily Lee Morgan Riggins. She was a homemaker and a member of Hickox Baptist Church. She was widowed twice; her first husband was James Lewis Purdon and her second husband was Ernest Hickox.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Blocker and Nora Marshall, both of Nahunta and Eileen Johnson of Baytown, TX; two sons, Thomas Purdom of Hortense and Robert Hickox of Nahunta; one sister, Elizabeth Barnhill of Titusville, FL; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. W. Derrell Rentz officiating. Burial was in Rob Lewis Cemetery.
Music was by Rev. Tommy Whaley. Song, "" Send Your Best Angel."
Pallbearers were Danny Haynes, William Haynes, Jocko Haynes, Timmy Waters, Jimmy Moore and Roger Moore.
Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
