Mildred was born in Visalia, California to George and Eula May (Gulick) Rowe, prominent pioneers of Visalia, California. Her father was born in Watsonville, California Feb. 13, 1885 and engaged in well drilling at Visalia for many years, his demise occurred at Vislia, July 17, 1913. Mrs. Rowe was born in Lincoln, Nebraska July 20, 1884. She was a well known business woman of Viaslia having acted as cashier of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company there for 24 years.
She married Dr. Merle Harris Swansen October 10, 1935 in Klamath Falls.
Two children have blessed the union of Dr. and Mrs. Swansen, namely Beverly Verne, born Feb. 10, 1938, and James Edward, 3rd, born March 14, 1939 in Klamath Falls.
