"Mrs. Susan Becker,
(Special to the Picayune)
Brookhaven, Miss., May 10 - Mrs. Susan Becker, mother of F. F. Becker, cashier of the Commercial Bank of this city, died at the home of her son, at 4 o'clock this morning, at the ripe age of 82 years. She had been feeble and failing for some months. Mrs. Becker was one of the oldest settlers of Brookhaven, coming here in 1857, when the place had scarcely risen to the dignity of a hamlet, and has ever since been identified with its interests. The whole town mourns the loss of this good woman, and her funeral this afternoon at 5 o'clock, from the family residence, was largely attended. Rev. A. Althoff, pastor of St. Francis Catholic Church, conducted the services."
