Son of Mrs. Lillian Ferrier who resided in Burlington, Vermont.

Robert served as a Sergeant & Photographer on B-25H #43-4213, 83rd Bomber Squadron, 12th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 30, 1941 in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

Robert was "Killed In Action" when his B-25 crashed in India during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in India and was later repatriated here on May 14, 1949.

Service # 11038294

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldier's were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
