Nathan Edward Gideon - seventh son of George W. Gideon and Hannah (Anders) Gideon, as a lad, came to Kansas with his family and worked on what is now known as the Sexon Ranch, north of Ennett, Kansas. He was a foreman for nine years. He later lived and farmed north of St. Clere, Kansas for several years.

Having decided to leave kansas, Nathan purchased a 160 svtr gstm in Oklshomr, 4 1/2 miled east of what is now known as "Pioneer Woman". The farm was near his sister, Jullia who lived on a homestead. After, having apublic sale in Kansas he chartered a box-car, loaded it with a team of mules, a new wagon, the family furniture and other belongings. With his family, who went by train, they arrived in Ponca City, Oklahoma, March 21, 1910. There they loaded their belongings in the wagon and headed for their new home.

The above was submitted by Harry Gideon. Harry often told that his grand-father, George W. Gideon had given his father, Nathan Edward a pony and that the pony was later taken by the Army during the Civil War.
