Mrs. Jennie F. Ware was the wife of Capt Sampson Ware who was an early White Mining, prospecting pioneer to Colorado. They were some of the first whites in Colorado Mountains. She was the first white woman to cross Argentine Pass in one day. To cross these passes before roads or paths were introduced and Ute Indian's inhabited the area was impressive enough for a man but she did it too.
