OTTUMA - Marion C. Lathrop, 98, formerly of 722 Pocahontas Lane, died at 4: 50 p.m. Feb. 5, 1999, at Sunnyslope Care Center.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1900, in Taylor County to Charles Henry and Carra E. Cameron Lathrop. He married Chrystal Johnston on Feb. 18, 1927, in Clarinda. She died on Aug. 16, 1978.
He lived in Ottumwa most of his life. He was an employee of John Morrell and Company for 37 years.
He is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Storts of Davenport; Joyce Stuff of Naperville, Ill.; Sharon Lane of Ottumwa; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Terry Halstead of Davis Street Christian church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. today with the family present from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Christopher and Aaron Lane, Matthew and Randy Thomas Kenneth Stuff, and Tom Cremer.
A memorial has been established to Sunnyslope Care Center.
