2nd Wife of Dr. Scott LeFavre Rountree
Daughter of Robert Asa Thompson & Mary J. Williams Thompson
Member of M. E. Church South

Miss Georgia Thompson was born March 5th, 1847. She was married to Dr. Scott LeFavre Rountree on May 31st, 1866. She died May 14th, 1910 and was buried in the family cemetery at the Rountree home May 15th. She was the mother of twelve children. Five sons and three daughters are living to mourn her departure. She professed religion and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, in early childhood. During all these years she lived a faithful, consistent christian life. Her house was the home of the itinerant preacher. Her life was one of faithful service to her home and the church. We feel that we know where to find her.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of the Saints" It is the time of triumph. We only need the eye of faith to penetrate the gloom and put in motion celestial breezes, until "when the mists" are cleared away we view in the radiance of heaven's own light," "the beautiful home of the Soul."

This good woman left in her life, a glorious heritage for her children. May a kind Providence graciously guide and keep them. -----V. O. Hawkins
