He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie D. Shelton Sr. and Helen Butler Shelton.
He is survived by a son, Leslie Shelton III and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Kelly Marie and Keith Michael, all of Richmond; also a sister, Judy Allen and her husband, Vernon; nephews, Chad Allen and his wife, Karen, and Stoney Allen; and great-nephew, Austin Drew Allen, all of Emporia.
