"Charlie" was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in South Gate where he graduated high school. He attended San Jose State University where he competed in track (broke records at that time). He served in the Navy during World War II (Pacific) and Korean War. He was also attached to the Marines. He served as Medic/Corpman. He did dentistry during his service. Charlie served as Santa Clara County Coroner during the 1950's. He then worked for the San Jose Water Works until 1969 when he moved his family to So. Oregon. He then worked for the City of Medford. He continued working for the City over 30 years quiting only a few short years prior to his death. He was married to Virginia Fernandez (their marriage was annulled) in the 1940's and subsequently married Mary Lousie Cano in August 1953. They adopted two daughters. Mary passed away November 1983. Charlie remarried in June 1984 to Wanda Evans.
