Son of Lauris B. & Bessie E. Brown who resided in New Hampshire.

Burchard served as a Private, Medical Department, 38th Evacuation Hospital, 111th Medical Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on February 4, 1942 at Fort Deven's, Massachusetts. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a lumbermen and also as Single, without dependents.

Burchard died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident during the war.

It is possible that they all died in a plane crash since the unit was transferring, at this time, from Algeria to Italy.

He was originally interred in Algeria and was later repatriated here on August 10, 1948.
