Nellie Lela Crosby Runyon, daughter of John D. and Nancy Welty Crosby, was born in Richland County, Illinois, April 19, 1889, and departed this life in Olney, Illinois, February 17, 1969, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 29 days.

She was united in marriage to Morris Runyon, April 16, 1914. To this union were born 3 daughters, and 2 sons. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Samuel Crosby; three sisters, Mrs. Estella Bill, Mrs. Clara Lee, and Mrs. Dessie Klutz; also 2 step-children Floyd Runyon and Mrs. Faye Runyon Potter.

Early in life she accepted the Methodist Faith and for many years maintained membership in the Olive Branch Methodist church located 9 miles southwest of Olney.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Morris; three daughters, Mrs. Bernice I Willkom of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Mrs. Kathleen E. Houchin of Olney, Illinois; Mrs. Wanda J. Sullivan of Riverdale, Illinois; two sons, Berlin C. Runyon and Richard M. Runyon both of Olney, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Creekmur of Hebron, Indiana; 10 grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. February 19, 1969 at Summers-Rainey Home in Olney,
