James Ansley, age 81, of Crestview, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
James retired from the military with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church.
James is survived by two sons, Dale and wife Kim, Lyvon and wife Mellisa, all of Crestview; son-in-law, Wayne Stokes of Laurel Hill; brother, Bill Ansley and wife Janice of Laurel Hill; sister, Margaret Herr and husband Larry of California; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jackie, Carrie, Summer, Katie, Little Dale, TJ, Michael, Lyvon Jr., Brandon, Trish, Zachary and Jordan; three great-grandchildren, Cody, Haley and Sidney; also numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Ansley; father, Walter Ansley; his wife Betty Ansley; his daughter, Joanne Stokes; his son, James W. Ansley; granddaughter, Tiffany Ansley; sister, Bernice Rice and her son Jay Rice.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, Ala.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala with burial in the Svea Cemetary.
