Son of Harry L. Bamberger who resided in Buffalo, New York.

Joseph served as a Second Lieutenant & Bombardier on B-24H "Vicious Vixen" #41-29263, 737th Bomber Squadron, 454th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.

Joseph was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down in Italy during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in Bari, Italy and was later repatriated here on June 17, 1949.
